ATE PowerDisc: Major extension of product range announced

  • High-performance brake discs will be available for even more vehicles starting in the third quarter of 2015
  • Multifunctional groove increases braking power
  • Quick installation and sporty look

Frankfurt, May 21, 2015. Starting in the third quarter of this year, the ATE PowerDisc will be available for even more vehicles. ATE will add 65 article numbers, increasing its coverage by about 50 percent. This high-performance product enables increased braking power on both wet and dry road surfaces. A multifunctional “infinite loop” groove on the brake disc diverts moisture, gases and dirt that can reduce braking performance, and it looks good as well. Fading, which can be caused by escaping gas, is prevented.

Quick installation in repair shops – high performance and sporty look for drivers

Another advantage of the PowerDisc is that it is supplied with corrosion protection. This not only extends the service life of the brake disc, it also means that no cleaning is required before installation. Repair shops can thus install them more quickly. In addition, wear tests are more effective: the depth of the multifunctional groove is also the minimum thickness of the brake disc. Mechanics can therefore see if a disc has reached its wear limit without dismantling the brake or using measuring tools. As long as the groove is visible, the wear limit has not been reached.

The extension of the PowerDisc line will give repair shops a larger and more attractive range of brakes for drivers who value high performance and a sporty appearance.
